Security Lighting
Security lighting is the outdoor lighting that deters intruders and lights up what a camera or an alarm sensor is watching. Vertex Supplies stocks three approaches: mains floodlights, solar lights that need no wiring at all, and wall lights with a built-in PIR motion sensor.
Floodlights are the workhorse. They cover driveways, rear gardens, yards and commercial premises, and most of our range is LED, so a 30W fitting replaces a much larger halogen. Solar lights suit sheds, outbuildings, fences and anywhere running a cable is impractical, and they switch on automatically at dusk. PIR wall lights trigger only on movement, which saves power and avoids lighting a property all night.
Most outdoor fittings here are IP65 or IP44 rated, which is what you need for permanent outdoor installation in the UK. If you are pairing lighting with cameras, our CCTV range and PIR detectors cover the detection side.
