When choosing a pedestal fan, look at blade diameter and speed settings for the room size, and whether height adjustment and oscillation matter for where it'll sit. For extractor fans, match the airflow rating (m3/h) to the room — bathrooms and en-suites generally need a stronger extraction rate than a small cloakroom — and decide whether you want a timer that keeps the fan running after the light switches off, which helps clear condensation and prevent mould in bathrooms.
